A mechanical engineer or lead technician walks the space to understand the system, the constraints, and the actual problem before anything gets proposed.
You get a clear, written proposal covering scope, timeline, and cost — reviewed together before anything is scheduled.
Work is scheduled around your building's operations where possible, with permits pulled for anything that requires one.
Systems are tested under load and commissioned to spec before we call a project complete — not just installed and left.
Many clients move to a standing maintenance schedule after the first project, so small issues get caught before they're expensive ones.
If something we installed or repaired isn't performing the way it should within 7 days, call us and we'll return to make it right at no extra charge.
Zimmer Mechanical Company was founded in La Mesa by David Lizerbram, a mechanical contractor who got tired of scopes that changed after the crew showed up. The company is built around one rule: a written proposal before any work starts, and systems commissioned and tested before we call a job done.
We handle the full range of commercial mechanical work — HVAC, piping, ductwork, and controls — with the same crew from proposal to commissioning, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.
Most of our work comes from property managers, facility engineers, and general contractors across San Diego County who've learned they can hand us a scope and not have to re-check it.
"I still review every proposal we send out."
"I keep our schedules and our scopes honest."
"Commissioning is where a job is actually finished."
"They caught a design issue in our mechanical room before it became a change order. That's the kind of thing you only get from a contractor who actually reads the drawings."
"Straightforward proposal, no scope creep, and they commissioned the system properly before signing off."
"Our chiller replacement ran exactly on the timeline they gave us. That almost never happens."
"We've used them across three of our locations now. Same crew, same standard, every time."
